A shocking report prepared by Russia’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency (FAAE) on information provided to them by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) states that the Obama regime has ordered a “total and complete†news blackout relating to any information regarding the near catastrophic meltdown of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant located in Nebraska.
Â
Â
The link shared by conservatives on Facebook was this one to a site in Pakistan: US orders news blackout over crippled Nebraska Nuclear Plant
Â
Here's the same story at Weather-Tech: US Orders News Blackout Over Crippled Nebraska Nuclear Plant
Â
The paragraph above is the first one in all the stories. Then it continues:
According to this report, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant suffered a “catastrophic loss of cooling†to one of its idle spent fuel rod pools on 7 June after this plant was deluged with water caused by the historic flooding of the Missouri River which resulted in a fire causing the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) to issue a “no-fly ban†over the area.
Located about 20 minutes outside downtown Omaha, the largest city in Nebraska, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant is owned by Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) who on their website denies their plant is at a “Level 4†emergency by stating: “This terminology is not accurate, and is not how emergencies at nuclear power plants are classified.â€
Russian atomic scientists in this FAAE report, however, say that this OPPD statement is an “outright falsehood†as all nuclear plants in the world operate under the guidelines of the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) which clearly states the “events†occurring at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant do, indeed, put it in the “Level 4†emergency category of an “accident with local consequences†thus making this one of the worst nuclear accidents in US history.
Though this report confirms independent readings in the United States of “negligible release of nuclear gasses†related to this accident it warns that by the Obama regimes censoring of this event for “political purposes†it risks a “serious blowback†from the American public should they gain knowledge of this being hidden from them.
Interesting to note about this event was the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Chief, Gregory B. Jaczko, blasting the Obama regime just days before the near meltdown of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant by declaring that “the policy of not enforcing most fire code violations at dozens of nuclear plants is “unacceptable†and has tied the hands of NRC inspectors.â€
This report further notes that the “cover-up†of this nuclear disaster by President Obama is being based on his “fantasy†of creating so-called green jobs which he (strangely) includes nuclear power into as his efforts to bankrupt the US coal industry proceed at a record breaking pace.
Unknown to the American people about Obama’s “war†on the US coal industry is it’s estimated to cost them over a 60% increase in their electricity bills by 2014 and cause over 250,000 jobs to be lost in an already beleaguered economy.
More ominous for those American people whose lives depend on the coal industry that is being deliberately destroyed is the Obama regime’s massive “security exercise†currently ongoing in the major coal mining States of Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia, and as we can read about, in part, as reported by InfoWars.Com:
Obama’s fears of the American people turning against nuclear power, should its true dangers be known, appear to be valid as both Germany and Italy (whose people, unlike the Americans, have been told the truth) have turned against it after the disaster in Japan and vowed to close all of their atomic plants.
Perhaps even more sadly for the American people is this report stating that the Obama regime is “walking in lockstep†with Japan in their attempts to keep the truth of nuclear accidents from their citizens; which in the case of the Japanese can only be labeled as horrific as new evidence points to them knowing within hours of the Great Tsunami that their atomic reactors had melted down, but have only today ordered an evacuation of pregnant women from what are called “radiation hotspots.â€

I certainly had not heard any information about this on the nightly news.
Â
Just yesterday, Reuters posted this story: Nebraska nuclear reactor dry though surrounded by flood
Â
The Reuters story begins:
The Fort Calhoun nuclear power station in Nebraska remains shut down due to Missouri River flooding, but the plant itself has not flooded and is expected to remain safe, the federal government said Friday.
The rising river "has certainly affected the site, but the plant itself, the actual reactor is still dry," said Scott Burnell, Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman.
Â
The 478-megawatt plant north of Omaha shut April 9 to refuel, and has remained shut because of the flooding, said Omaha Public Power District spokesman Jeff Hanson.
Â
"When the river reaches 1,004 feet above mean sea level, we shut down," said Hanson. "We don't have any idea when we'll be able to start again."
Â
The Missouri River, swollen by heavy rains and melting snow, has been flooding areas from Montana through Missouri. Residents have been shoring up levees around towns as federal officials widen flood gates to allow record or near-record water releases to ease pressure on reservoirs.
Â
The Fort Calhoun station is owned and operated by the Omaha Public Power District and supplies power to Nebraska's largest city. Contractors at the plant have completed construction of an earthen berm around the plant's switch yard and are protecting the plant and other facilities with large temporary structures filled with water.
Â
According to the NRC's Burnell, the added flood barriers will protect the plant even if the river rises beyond where it is currently projected to go. Within that flood barrier, the plant has taken steps to provide additional protection for emergency diesel generators, Burnell said.
Â
Burnell said that all information available to the NRC indicates the plant will remain safe. "The Missouri River flooding has appropriately been accounted for and the plant will be able to deal with it in a safe and appropriate way," Burnell said.
Â
About 60 miles south of Omaha near Brownsville, Neb., the Cooper Nuclear Station, run by the Nebraska Public Power District, remains in operation, providing power to all of Nebraska, including Omaha while the Fort Calhoun plant is down, according to Mark Becker, media relations specialist for the NPPD. The river level there is at 896.6 feet above sea level.
Â
Becker said the plant would not declare a "notice of an unusual event" to the NRC until the level reached 899 feet, and would not shut down the reactor until 902 feet. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has predicted the crest there will likely reach 899.6 feet.

So, I wonder what we're supposed to believe.
Â
While I'll be the first to admit that most of Obama's policies infuriate me, I'll also have to share that he's not the first president I know about who has silenced the media.
Â
I worked for a local newspaper in 2001, and after 9/11 when newspapers and government officials started receiving white powder in the mail, our newspaper and local officials did as well. The FBI came and took the envelopes and powder and told the editors not to print anything. Later, we were told that the powder received in our area was just a prank by a college kid. But we still were not allowed to print the story.
Â
Acknowledging that former government also silenced the media doesn't make me like that media today can be silenced.
Â
Whatever happened to freedom of the press?
Â
Today, we should be thankful that we have the internet and that we can check sources outside our country if we so choose.
Â
But then again, we also have that new position that Obama created, the story squasher and director of progressive media.
Â
And TSA? We already know they're being used to do pat downs on prom night. Is it much of a stretch to think that they'll be the ones trained to keep us in line? That would explain the massive and lengthy vetting process one person I know went through trying to get one of the new TSA jobs. (When have you been asked to tell about trips that all over your relatives made over the past 2 years?)

ADD CLIPS truth to be told here.....The same image that the governor saw reached the Internet and had led to a wave of rumors. But Omaha Public Power District officials said the images don't tell the whole story.
They said the flood water pumped into a giant donut around the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant was put there to keep flood water out. Officials called it an "aqua berm."
The OPPD showed videos taken almost two weeks ago to demonstrate the efforts to keep the facility dry.
"I want (people) to understand the plant is safe (and) will continue to be safe," said Dave Bannister, an OPPD nuclear plant officer.
Officials said on Friday that the plant is on the lowest emergency status, but they are prepared if it rises another 10 feet.
"We have a lot of margin of where we are today. And, if things were to progress, we still have margins and actions to be able to address that," Bannister said.
Officials said they also want to dispel the rumors going around the Internet about a possible nuclear meltdown.
OPPD Chief Executive Officer Gary Gates said, "It's frustrating because some of the information is not right."
In April, OPPD asked for a no fly zone over the plant because they shut down the reactor for routine refueling.
"It has nothing to do with radiation. There is no release of radiation from the site," Bannister said.
Officials said the situation is totally different than the nuclear power plant in Japan that was hit by both earthquake and tsunami. They said they are confident with weeks they've had to prepare.
"I can assure you a Fukushima event will not occur at Fort Calhoun," Gates said.
OPPD said they will not restart the reactor until the river stabilizes.
